You must have Microsoft Word 97, 2000, 2002, 2003 , or
2007 running on
Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, or Vista installed to use the
Wizards from Recipes for Word. If you're not sure, hold the
Win key down and press "R" on the keyboard. Enter WINWORD.EXE in the box. Click Run. If you
get an error message, you don't have Microsoft Office Word
installed properly.
If Word starts correctly, determine the version by clicking
on Word's Help menu>About Microsoft Word.
Microsoft Word Pad, Corel WordPerfect,
StarOffice are NOT compatible.
Microsoft Works' low grade word processor
is also NOT compatible; however, some versions of
MS Works include a full version of Microsoft Office Word
(usually MS Word 2002). This version of MS Word is
acceptable. Ensure it is installed.
Microsoft Word is sold as a standalone application, as a
part of Microsoft Office, and, on some versions, as a part
of Microsoft Works.
If you need a copy of Microsoft Word, an inexpensive way
is to purchase an OEM version over the Internet. These
overstock versions are sometimes bundled with a new PC.
They come as a CD (or DVD) They don't have a box, manual, or
support. Nevertheless, they cost from $17 to $39 and
work as well as the $200+ versions.
Use a search engine like google.com, yahoo.com, or
msn.com. Search for "Microsoft Word OEM" or "Microsoft Works
OEM". Find the best price and ensure it's in stock. Before
you purchase Microsoft Works, ensure it has a full version
of Microsoft Word included. Not all versions have MS Word
included.
After acquiring MS Word, install it, and then install
your Recipes for Word Wizard product.
