During installation the install program checks your registry to see if you have a fully paid full version of Microsoft Word installed properly. If not, you will get an error message saying you don't have Word installed correctly.

You must have a full version of Microsoft Office Word 2000, 2002, 2003 , 2007 or 2010 running on Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista. or 7 installed to use the Wizards from Recipes for Word.

Microsoft Word Pad, Microsoft Works, Corel Word Perfect, Open Office, Google Docs are NOT compatible. Microsoft Office 2010 Starter, Click to Go are NOT compatible. You must have a full version of Microsoft Office Word as noted above. Demo versions, click to go, and Starter versions will not work.

Another reason for the error message is multiple versions of Office being installed in the wrong order, or type. For example if you install a copy of Office 2007(and some versions of 2010) when Office 2010 demo or Starter version is already installed (e.g. came with new computer), your registry is corrupted. Send your nastygrams to Microsoft, not us.

To remedy this situation, click on Start>Control Panel>Programs and Features (may be slightly different for your version of Windows) Scroll to Microsoft Office. Uninstall ALL versions of Office. Reboot. Install your purchased full version of Office, e.g., Office 2007 Home and Student. Reinstall Wizards.

To validate you have the proper installation, hold the Windows Key down on your keyboard and press "R". This will bring up the run dialog. Enter WINWORD.EXE and click Run or OK. If Word is installed correctly, it should Open. Otherwise you will get an error message.

Again, you should uninstall Starter, Click to Go, or Demo versions of Office before you install your full purchased version. If necessary Uninstall all versions of Office and reinstall the full version.

If you have multiple FULL versions of Office, e.g., 2003 and 2007, they must be installed in chronological order, first 2003 then 2007.
